SOMETHING GOTHIC THIS WAY COMES

Hey, DARK SHADOWS fans -- new gothic horrors are headed for DVD and Blu-ray!

I'm a big -- no, REAL big -- fan of Dan Curtis, and especially his flagship enterprise, the Great and Weirdly Wonderful DARK SHADOWS. Mr. Curtis produced numerous other TV movies over the wonder years before TV movies were eclipsed by cable and specialty programming.

In the startling seventies, Curtis produced not one, but two feature-length versions of his gothic love child. HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS (1970) and NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS (1971) exploded on the screen in blood-drenched color . . . and I do mean blood-drenched. Not being confined to the strictures of commercial television, Curtis pulled no punches and made his vampires more bloodthirsty and lustful and his victims more wanton and uninhibited. Seeing both of these in the theater when they were first released, I was both shocked and exhilarated to see DARK SHADOWS all grow'd up!

Now you can throw your videotapes and crappy dubs out. Something wicked this way comes in October. Just a day before Halloween, both of these films will be released on DVD and Blu-ray!
