Nearly 10 years before Max Von Sydow played Father Merrin in and as THE EXORCIST, he was already highly regarded as one of Sweden's top actors, landing plumb roles in the films of Ingmar Bergman. Considered cool enough to be hip by PLAYBOY magazine, Mr. Sydow was profiled in April 1964's On the Scene feature.
