Now in his eighties, Tony Tallarico has had a long career in illustrating comics and producing children's books (now with his son, Tony). He worked for both Charlton and Dell and edited Mayfair's MONSTER WORLD. Forced to change the name by Warren, it became QUASIMODO'S MONSTER MAGAZINE with issue #3.
The example shown here is Mr. Tallarico's original cover art for QMM #4. It is rendered with ink and gouache on illustration board and measures 12.75" x 16.5". It is signed in the bottom margin. One can easily see the marked difference between the vibrant colors of the original and the low reproduction quality of the magazine cover.
